After the huge success of a naked calendar which raised over £18k for Pancreatic Cancer UK in memory of Clitheroe man Dr Mick Barsby, his family have come up with another charity supporting idea to celebrate what would have been his 44th birthday.

Family and friends from the family’s gym Crossfit in Clitheroe, modelled for the calendar which went on to sell more than 1,500 copies.

Now, Mick’s wife Sue and sons Christian (18), James (18) and Oliver (14) have come up with the idea of selling wristbands, this time to help a local charity.

Sue commented: “We were blown away by the success of the calendar, but this time wanted to do something just to celebrate Mick’s memory and to remember him on his birthday. We’ve had the phrase ‘Man Up for Mick’ put on the bands as that’s what he used to say to the boys when they needed a bit of motivation. We hope the bands will remind people to think about others and what they may be going through, whatever their struggle.”

1,000 wristbands have been produced and are available in Clitheroe from Sarah Rose gift shop, Tallulah Jo’s Nails and Beauty, Crossfit gym and in Whalley from Saks Hair and Beauty.
