Ribble Valley residents turned out in force on Sunday to go that extra mile for a good cause.
Hundreds took part in the Sport Relief Mile, co-ordinated by Ribble Valley Borough Council, at Clitheroe Castle.
A warm-up session was held at Clitheroe Castle’s band stand before Ribble Valley Mayor Coun. Richard Sherras and his consort, Mrs Lynne Pate, gave the instruction for participants to set off.
Ribble Valley residents had the option of running, walking or jogging a one, three or six-mile circuit of Clitheroe Castle grounds, setting off from the bandstand at 11am.
