A father and daughter from Clitheroe who have raised thousands to help fight breast cancer rubbed shoulders with Tony and Cherie Blair at the weekend.
Andy and Bethany Rose were invited to a garden party hosted by Cherie Blair CBE, patron of Breast Cancer Care.
“We spent a very pleasant afternoon on Saturday at the home of the Blairs in Buckinghamshire at the invitation of Breast Cancer Care,” Andy explained. “It was a small gathering of about 60 people from around the country who have supported the charity over the years.
“We were able to meet and chat to both Cherie and Tony Blair, who took a genuine interest in our story and what we have done to support Breast Cancer Care.”
The duo have raised more than £30,000 in memory of Andy’s wife and Bethany’s mother Katy.
Bethany set out with the goal of raising £5,000 for Breast Cancer Care in memory of Katy who lost her battle with breast cancer on April 1st, 2010, aged 38.
Andy and Bethany’s most recent fund-raiser was a strawberry tea held in the garden of their home in Highmoor Park, Clitheroe, at the end of May which raised £560.
