FIFTEEN horses at Snodworth Livery Yard, Langho, have just had their regular weigh-in after winter.

Every six months TopSpec Horse Feeds weigh the horses using special weigh scales designed for horses.

Corrie Green, Animal Feeds Nutrionist from TopSpec, explained: “It’s vitally important to monitor your horse’s weight as part of its overall health care. Excess weight can lead to long-term problems.

“Every six months we check weight and muscle condition as well as reviewing the feed and exercise programme. Target weights are agreed with horse owners and these will be reviewed at the next weigh-in.”

Christine Boardman, proprietor of Snodworth Livery Yard, said: “The event was organised by Veronica Hargreaves who keeps her pony at the livery yard and we are extremely grateful to her.

“TopSpec provide a really valuable service to all our liveries. We’ve been working with their nutritionist, Corrie Green, now for two years and our liveries are delighted to have access to such a professional service.”
