A brave Bolton-by-Bowland granddaughter has been inspired to honour the memory of her late grandfather who taught her the importance of always thinking of others and helping people.
Emelia Mitchell (8), a Year 4 pupil at the village school, will raise money for Pendleside Hospice by having her hair cut off to donate to the charity Little Princesses, who make wigs for children who have lost their hair while going through treatment for cancer.
Emelia was very close to her “Papa” who died last July and hopes to raise £1,500 for the hospice in his memory.
Her hair will be cut on Friday, May 23rd, by Cheralyn from Amanda Eastwood’s hair salon in Clitheroe.
Buckets for donations will be at The Coach and Horses and the school in Bolton-by-Bowland, or to donate online, visit: www.justgiving.com/mypapa
