Clitheroe first-aiders stage charity event

A COFFEE morning was held by members of St John Ambulance, Clitheroe, at the Ribble Valley Borough Council Chamber.

Ribble Valley Mayor Coun. Simon Hore and his mayoress wife, Grace, along with Town Mayor Coun. Susan Knox atteded the event.

Mr Roland Hailwood, president of the Clitheroe and Ribble Valley St John Ambulance, said that he hoped to raise awareness of the important and fulfilling work done by the organisation.

A talk was given by the ambulance members, as well as practical demonstrations of first aid techniques such as CPR.

Invitations to the event were sent out to local schools as membership in the St John Ambulance can begin from the age of five.
