WHAT takes your fancy - a Ramble by the Ribble on Boxing Day or following Pathways under Pendle on New Year’s Day?
Clitheroe Ramblers have two led walks coming up over the festive season as part of the Ramblers’ annual Festival of Winter Walks.
On Boxing Day, Monday, December 26th, there will be a seven-mile circular walk setting out from Chester Avenue car park at 10-30 a.m. Some of the route will be along the Ribble Way, returning along field paths to the car park. The leader for this walk is Penny Pitty, who can be contacted on 01200 427395.
Then on Sunday, January 1st, start the New Year with an eight-mile walk from Pendleton. Meet at Chester Avenue car park at 10 a.m. or at Pendleton at 10-15 a.m.. This walk will be led by Jane Donnelly, who can be contacted on 01254 248713.
The walks are free and open to all, with families and well-behaved dogs welcome. You’ll need a packed lunch, warm clothes and suitable footwear.
This is a great opportunity to get out over the holiday and work off those mince pies. If you’re not a member of the Ramblers and might like to join, there’ll be a chance to do so by direct debit for £10 less than the usual cost.
