A NEW minibus has been delivered to the Clitheroe and district branch of the MS Society, provided with the help of the local service clubs from the proceeds of last year’s Bonfire and Firework Display on the Castle Field.

Last year’s event raised more than £12,000 and half of this went towards the minibus, which is seen each week taking members to the Contact Club in Henthorn, or on outings to locations around the area. This is a much-needed resource for people who would otherwise have difficulty leaving their home and having a social life.

The members are grateful to the Rotary Clubs of Clitheroe, Ribblesdale and Pendle View, and to Clitheroe Round Table and Clitheroe Lions who have all helped so much in making this purchase possible. Thanks also go to Affordable Mobility, of York Street, Clitheroe, for its generous donation.

This year’s Clitheroe Community Bonfire and Fireworks Display takes place on Saturday, November 5th, at the Castle Field, see next week’s Clitheroe Advertiser and Times for more details.
