MORE than £3,000 was raised at a charity evening in aid of research into Duchenne Syndrome, a form of muscular dystrophy.

The event at No. 1 Bar, Brockhall Village, was hosted by Mrs Linda Norris and was staged in aid of local boy Ben Mooney, who suffers from the illness.

The occasion was attended by David Dunn of Blackburn Rovers, who helped with the evening’s auction and a Spanish themed menu of tapas and paella was enjoyed by all who attended.
