A grandma and granddaughter team from Clitheroe have raised £300 for the chemotherapy unit at Burnley General Hospital in a Stand Up To Cancer event.

Julie staged the fund-raiser at her Clitheroe home with help from her 10-year-old granddaughter Olive Aspinwall with tea, coffee and cakes served in the afternoon from 2pm and wine, cheese and dips served in the evening until 9pm.

The event raised £261 with local builder David Johnston making this amount up to £300.

A raffle with prizes donated by local market stall holders was held at the event. Donations came from Walker’s fruit and veg stall, Derek’s household stall, Mark’s sweet stall, Ferguson’s Deli, Tom’s Cooked Meat stall and Pots and Petals. Prizes were also donated by neighbours, friends, family and Leaping Lizards Play Centre in Clitheroe.

Olive also ran a tombola at the event.
