The auction ring at Gisburn became centre stage when members of the Bowland Gamebirds donated a cheque for £500 to the Field Nurse project.

Helen Dakin and Claire Thornber presented the money raised at their inaugural rounders tournament in September. The total raised at the event was £1,000 with £500 donated to Field Nurse and £500 to North West Air Ambulance.

Claire Thornber said: “What started out as a small get together resulted in an overwhelming support from 100 players and many enthusiastic supporters. We couldn’t have asked for a better day. Everyone really got into the spirit of the fabulous family event.”

The team have already scheduled the 2017 tournament for Sunday, September 17th and have pledged to support the Field Nurse charity once again.
