Free Internet taster sessions at Clitheroe Library

NEW to using the Internet? A free event at Clitheroe library aims to show users how the internet can help with everything from shopping to up-to-the-minute travel information.

The event will be held on Monday, February 7th, from 9-30 a.m. to 12-30 p.m. Organised by Lancashire's library service, the sessions aim to cover shopping, finding new hobbies, applying for jobs, researching family history and using social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter.

Mike Calvert, Lancashire County Council's cabinet member for adult and community services said: "I fully support all local, regional and national initiatives to encourage and enable people to take advantage of the countless opportunities online. There's no doubt people who don't have access to the Internet are at a serious disadvantage these days. I'd therefore encourage everyone who hasn't had the chance to go online to make the most of these excellent sessions."
