Scorton is to achieve a Lancashire first when it plays host to the county’s first ever dedicated game and country festival this weekend

On September 12 and 13, the Lancashire Game and Country Festival will be held at the Scorton Showground, Woodacre Lodge Farm, off Gubberford Lane

The event is set to showcase and celebrate many aspects of country life with hound displays, gundog scurries, clay pigeon shooting, terrier racing, fly-fishing, archery and falconry. Many of these will be demonstrated by members of local clubs such as Blackpool Sporting Clays, Pilling Moss Gun Dog Club and the Vale of Lune Harriers among others and there will be opportunities for visitors to try pursuits first-hand.

There will be a marquee dedicated to rural crafts, a beer tent and a food village.

Gates open at 9am. Further info visit www.lancashiregamefestival.co.uk. Tickets cost £10 for adults and £5 for children aged 10 to 16 years. .
