Elderly woman ‘shaken’ after house repeatedly egged

Police are investigating several incidents of eggs being thrown in Clitheroe town centre over the weekend.

Eggs were thrown at a house in Moor Lane at 5-30pm on Friday according to police.

A group of youths are also reported to have been stood in the grounds of Clitheroe Castle at approximately 8-30pm on Saturday throwing numerous eggs at the same property in Moor Lane.

Police said the occupier, an 87-year-old lady who is currently unwell, has been left visibly shaken and upset by the incident.

Another incident involved eggs being thrown at a car that was parked on Tesco’s car park at around 11-45pm on Saturday.

Neighbourhood officers are currently reviewing CCTV for both incidents to try and identify any individuals involved.
