Whalley’s Oakhill College pupils competed at the School Sochi Games at the Chill Factor in Manchester

They were up against Nelson and Colne College pupils at least two year older and many of Oakhill’s younger ones were competing against some who were six years older than themselves!

The pupils competed well and were awarded the Team Bronze Medal.

Jacob Lutwyche from Year Eight recorded the fastest slalom record for the whole event and as a result of the team’s excellent skiing they were the only team given lift passes to use the main slope. And during their time on the main slope there was plenty of time for pupils to show off their skills with the Bentley sisters skiing on one ski, Dominic Smith and Declan O’Kane attempting to perfect their jumping techniques and Jacob Lutwyche skilfully beating the moguls.
