TEENAGE beauty Tillie Brown has made it to the semi-finals of a national beauty pageant.
The 13-year-old pupil of St Augustine’s RC High School, Billington, beat fierce competition from 19,000 teenage contestants from across the country to reach the semi-final stages of the Miss Teen Princess UK, 2012.
Tillie entered the competition when she went on a school trip to the Clothes Show live exhibition, NEC, Birmingham. From that, she was selected to make her way to a studio in London for a makeover and took part in a professional photo shoot.
She said: “I really did not expect to go this far. I thought it would be good experience, but was chuffed when I received a letter to say I had made it into the semi-finals.
“I found I was quite nervous when I had to pose in front of the cameras, but all my family and friends have supported me and I really want to win this competition now.”
The Teen Princess competition is part of the Teen Queen UK contest, which enables girls from all walks of life and backgrounds the chance to give the exciting world of modelling a go, but also gives them the opportunity to take part in a professional photo-shoot at a top London studio. The competition is split into two categories; Teen Queen for girls aged 16 to 19 and Teen Princess for girls aged 13 to 15. The winner of the teen princess contest will be given a chance to face campaigns by known fashion and beauty brands. The winner will also be introduced to a top modelling agency and may be given a modelling contract to help kickstart her career.
The grand finalé of the contest will be held in September and Tillie needs the support of Ribble Valley folk to vote for her in order to be crowned Miss Teen Princess 2012. The grand finalé will be hosted by two surprise celebrities and will also have a panel of judges made up of sponsors and celebrity personalities. Two winners from each category will receive their sashes and tiaras along with their prizes.
