DURING half term a group of senior cadets from Stonyhurst College’s Combined Cadet Force (CCF) enjoyed a very successful Target Rifle Skills course at the National Shooting Association Centre in Bisley, Surrey.

The cadets were instructed in the Cadet Target Rifle by the NRA Senior Instructors. All Cadets thoroughly enjoyed the experience of shooting on the ranges, some of which were half a mile long, and managed to score an impressive number of bulls using the most technical scopes and rifles.

Three members of the group gained the impressive qualification of Cadet Target Rifle Instructor – Joseph Bentley from Whalley, Sebastian Ebrey from Clitheroe (both 17) and Patrick Phoenix, aged 16 from Gisburn.

The cadets now look forward to entering the Annual Nations Schools Shooting Competition in July.
