The school clock is turning back 30 years this weekend when the boys and girls who left Ribblesdale high School in 1985 get together for a reunion.
They’ll be at the King’s Arms, Bawdlands, Clitheroe, this Saturday (September 5th) from 8 pm to 1 am to catch up on old friendships and recall tales of teachers and pupils, the fun and games they had – plus the hard work, of course – and what they’ve been doing since ‘85.
Linda Grimshaw (nee Britton) one of the organisers, said: “We had a reunion in 1990 after five years, but we haven’t had one since then.
“We started a group on Facebook, and so far we’ve had 60 say they’re definitely coming. e’re expecting a few more, so there could be 100 on the night.”
The reunion team picked the King’s Arms because it was recently taken over by Luke and Lynn Holt.
Lynn (nee Johnson) is one one the class of ‘85 herself and also owns The Snip hairdressers in King Lane.
Linda said: “We thought it might be nice to support her and her husband in their new venture.
“The pub has been refurbished and caters for everyone, with dance floor, pool table, poker table, quiet areas, beer garden, and smoking area.
“They have a state of the art Karaoke machine so if anyone fancies getting up please feel free. The’ll be playing 80s music all evening.”
One of the ex-pupils is also doung a stand-up comic routine.
The ex-pupils are being asked to make their own picture name badges with a photo of themselves in schooldays, to make it easier to recognise each other.
