Parents and family members enjoyed a school meal at Pendle Primary School in Clitheroe when they joined children who have just started in Reception.

Pupils showed the adults how to choose their lunch, where to sit and how to clear away their tray.

Head teacher Mrs Alison Callon said: “The children love showing their parents how independent they have become since starting school and also awarding stickers for ‘a clean plate’!”

In other news, Pendle Primary School also took part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning for Macmillan Cancer and raised £415. Parents and grandparents enjoyed the now traditional “staff bake off” and were entertained throughout the morning by children in Year One and Two who sang and members of the recorder groups who played. They also bought cakes and buns at the end of school cake sale.
