Pupils in Ribblesdale High School’s ski teams came away with several trophies after competing in the North West Schools’ Skiing Championships at Pendle Ski Club.

The A team was made up of Callum Witts and Victoria Gatty (Year 11), Will Austin (Year Nine) and Ciaran Bradwell (Year Eight), while the B team was made up of Elisha Priestley, Eleanor Jessop (Year Nine) and Georgia Singh and Joel Whitfield (Year Eight).

A spokeswoman for the school said all the pupils performed exceptionally well with both Victoria and Callum winning their respective age categories – Victoria the Upper Senior Girls and Callum the Upper Senior Boys. They also won a trophy each for being the fastest female and fastest male overall on the day.

Will Austin, meanwhile, came third in the lower senior category and Ciaran Bradwell ninth.

Out of all 160 competitors, Callum was first, Tori fourth, Will sixth and Ciaran 25th.

The A team won the overall team competition, regaining the trophy they won last year, whilst the B team came a respectable 14th out of 34 teams. Eleanor placed 22nd in her age group, Joel 25th, Elisha 33rd and Georgia 43rd.
