Thorneyholme RC Primary School, Dunsop Bridge, opened its doors to past pupils, parishioners and the local community as the beginning of celebrations for its 150th anniversary.

The school is believed to have been built in 1886 by the Towneley Family, following the construction of St Hubert’s RC Church.

Both open days were a huge success with many wonderful past pupils reuniting with one another and sharing their special memories.

The children provided entertainment, singing a selection of songs, which was followed by the youngest and the oldest pupils cutting a special 150th Anniversary cake.
