Pupils at Bolton-by-Bowland CE Primary School have been working hard towards achieving the Arts Award “Discover” which is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.

They have been working with Mrs Bobbie Miller from the Quarry Tales Project run by the Quarry Arts Project. The children have visited Hanson’s Quarry in Clitheroe and have been learning about different rock formations. They have also worked with artist Ali Telfer drawing and painting, visited Clitheroe Castle Museum where they played the lithophone and are now creating music by striking rocks. The children are also learning dance moves replicating the actions of the old quarry miners, digging and breaking stones.
