Children at Pendle Primary School were shown why bees play such an important role in nature as they search for nectar and pollen in our gardens and countryside.

A competition was run in conjunction with the school and Lancashire Wildlife Trust, to get the children to learn more about bees by producing fact sheets, making models or by various other mediums.

The competition winners attended a special bee activity morning at Hanson Cement Training Centre, where local bee expert Brian Robinson gave them more information and facts and the children made bee boxes and received their competition winner’s certificates.
