Making an early start to the ski season, Oakhill College’s annual ski trip proved to be another fantastic week, with day after day of sunshine. Snow was not too plentiful, but the pisteurs of Alpe D’Huez did a fantastic job of ensuring the slopes gave pupils and staff from the Whalley college plenty of opportunity for some excellent skiing.

The party of 29 headed once again to the Beausoleil Hotel, which opens out straight to the lifts and miles of pistes to enjoy. Oakhill skiers made excellent progress during their six days of skiing and enjoyed many challenges. A highlight was skiing on the glacier at the summit of Pic Blanc at 3,300m. Evening activities kept th group entertained, with indoor high ropes, bumboarding, ice skating, outdoor swimming and the highly competitive team quiz.
