A PINK ball had a perfect ending when a magnificent £43,282 was raised for Breast Cancer Research.

The Perfectly Pink Ball was organised by Jordan Riley, a sixth form pupil at Stonyhurst College, and a team of helpers.

Around 350 guests attended the fund-raiser.

Jordan, who lives in Barrowford, and her team had been working on the event for months and persuaded many local businesses to donate prizes and sponsorship to make the night a success.

“I’m delighted the ball was such a success,” said Jordan, who was inspired to organise the event after the death of her godmother from cancer.

She now intends to raise more money for Breast Cancer Research by taking part in the Race for Life and is encouraging everyone to sign up and enter their nearest 5k race.

Pupils Charlie McDermott and Megan Hindle, in their final year at the school, presented the cheque to Sarah McPhee, Cancer Research UK’s area volunteer manager for Lancashire.

Sarah said: “We are extremely grateful to Jordan and all her friends who helped organise the event and, of course, to Stonyhurst College for all their support. The Perfectly Pink Ball was a massive success and we can’t thank them enough.”
