PUPILS from St Joseph’s RC Primary School, Hurst Green, swapped their rural surroundings for the city lights.
While in the capital, the youngsters visited Ribble Valley MP Nigel Evans in Parliament.
The pupils were shown around Westminster Palace, including the chambers of both the House of Commons and House of Lords.
Mr Evans said: “I was delighted to welcome pupils from St Joseph’s to Parliament, and tremendously pleased they were so interested in its workings.
“I was particularly happy when so many of them indicated that they might like to follow a career in politics.
“I think it’s vitally important that the institutions of our democracy engage with young people as early as possible and for that reason, I will always make myself available to schools.
“The pupils were a credit to their school throughout their visit.”
