An annual five-a-side football tournament was held in memory of Brian Hodgson for the third consecutive year.

Brian (39), who died in 2011, was a father of four and married to Laura. A popular teacher at Stonyhurst College, he lived in Clitheroe and was a well-known figure in the town.

The football tournament, organised by childhood friend Lee Robinson, took place on September 29th at the Soccerdome, Blackburn.

Some 10 teams took part and the event was sponsored by Mantle Packaging Machinery of Whalley, with £530.33 raised for Bowel Cancer UK.

The Player of the Tournament award went to Nick Lord and the top goal scorer was Stuart Farquhar.
