Local professional footballer Joe Garner visited Brennand’s Endowed Primary School, in Slaidburn.

Joe, who has played for Blackburn Rovers, Nottingham Forest and who now plays for Watford, worked with all the children, showing them football skills and answering questions about his career.

They had a penalty shootout and took part in a five-a-side match. At the end of the session Joe chose two children who had worked hard learning new skills and presented each of them with one of his football shirts as a memento of the day.

The whole school had a fantastic morning and it was a great way to kick start our Sports Week.
