A group of 20 children from Bowland Montessori Pre-school took part in a sponsored walk in aid of Barnado’s children’s charity.

The Big Toddle started from the pre-school based in St James’ CE Primary School, Greenacre Street, Clitheroe, and headed for Waddow Hall via the footpath across fields to Brungerley Bridge.

At Waddow Hall, there was opportunity to use the play park facilities before a picnic outdoors in the improving weather.

Sunshine in the afternoon lifted everyone’s spirits for the return leg back to Greenacre Street.

Bowland Montessori Pre-school leader, Nancy Bigmore, declared that everyone had a great day out in the fresh air while raising more than £300 for a very worthwhile cause.

There were no complaints over the three mile toddle, just tired legs and happy children.

Thanks have been expressed to all the volunteers accompanying the party, the Waddow Hall staff who made the group very welcome and everyone who sponsored a child to complete the Big Toddle.
