Students from Bowland High School proved they can talk when they won the regional final’s of a public speaking competition.
Following on from their win at the district finals of the Rotary ‘Youth Speaks’ public speaking competition, Grindleton’s Bowland High went on to win the regional finals held at Glydwr University, Wales.
Representing the district of Lancashire, Bowland Year Eight pupils, George Poole, Sam Riding and Hollie Sharpe, who are all 13, were up against district winners from all over the North West of England and North Wales, Douglas (Isle of Man), Denbigh (North Wales) and Northwich to name, but a few areas.
As a team, this is George, Sam and Hollie’s first time competing and is an amazing achievement to get thus far.
Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Ribblesdale, the Bowland High team now go on to compete in the imminent national finals in Maidstone, Kent.
