Keen cyclists from Whalley’s Oakhill School headed for Llandegla Forest in North Wales for a biking adventure.

Twenty pupils, staff and parents headed for the picturesque destination just outside Wrexham and the party included young riders from year six through to senior students still on top form after their 200 mile coast to coast ride in August.

The riders split into groups, taking on a variety of trails many of which included downhill tracks with swooping bends and roller coaster dips.

The forest is home to Black Grouse which is declining in many parts of the UK and the bikers had the chance to watch them from a specially created bird hide.
