The multi-award winning Seafood Pub Company is celebrating again after news that the Assheton Arms has been awarded an AA Rosette and 5* status for its food and rooms.
The Downham gastropub has undergone a complete transformation in the past few months, with a complete bar and dining area refurbishment.
March saw the official opening of 12 new en-suite rooms that have been created in the village’s former post office and neighbouring Ash Tree Cottage. The refurbishment costs came in at £350,000, but the company is confident that it was money well spent.
Managing director Joycelyn Neve said: “To gain an AA rosette for culinary excellence and 5* status within a month of the changes is fantastic and all credit to the team who continually strive to make The Assheton the very best it can be.”
