The national ‘Jeans for Genes’ fundraising day involved the team at The Manor House Nursing Home, Chatburn, wearing as much denim as possible to work and donating money to help the charity change lives.

Genetic disorders are rare, but still affect more than 30,000 children diagnosed in the UK each year.

Cystic fibrosis, Down’s syndrome and Haemophilia are among the more commonly diagnosed conditions.

The elderly residents enjoyed the Jeans for Genes sweepstake and some even donned cowboy hats to go with the jeans.
