Witness appeal after man’s jaw broken in Clitheroe attack

A 27-year-old man suffered a broken jaw and lost several teeth in a “nasty assault” over the weekend.

Police are investigating the incident where the victim was allegedly punched and suffered serious facial injuries.

The incident happened at 1am on Saturday outside The Dog Music and Spors Bar, in Wellgate, Clitheroe.

Insp. Hassan Khan, of Clitheroe Police, said: “This was a nasty assault which took place in the centre of town.

“The victim’s jaw was broken in two places and he had several teeth dislodged.

“We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the attack to come forward and contact us on 101 or the free and confidential Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111.”

A 27-year-old man was arrested in connection to the incident and has since been released on police bail.
