A microgramme of alcohol proved costly for a 34-year-old Whalley motorist.

Blackburn magistrates heard Lee Michael Batts provided a blood sample for analysis and the level was 81 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of blood. The legal limit is 80.

Batts, of Queen Mary Terrace, was fined £350 with £85 costs and banned from driving for 18 months by magistrates after admitting driving with excess alcohol.
