Whalley man’s Big Mac craving led to drink-drive ban

Have your say

A MOTORIST who went for a late night Big Mac ended up giving a lamp post a big smack as he skidded on ice at the Clitheroe drive-through.

Blackburn magistrates heard Thomas Gibson failed a breathalyser test after police were called to the scene.

Gibson (20), of Pendle Drive, Whalley, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol. He was fined £110 with £105 costs and banned from driving for 12 months.

Miss Michelle Stewart (defending) said Gibson had been to a party and had three or four drinks.

“He drove three or four hours after he had consumed the alcohol and thought he would be OK to drive,” said Miss Stewart.
