Lancashire police with their partner agencies were out last weekend in Clitheroe enforcing the Community Alcohol Network Operation, safeguarding young people in public areas who may be vulnerable or at risk from significant harm.
The event coincided with local Year 11 school pupils leaving school before their exams.
Alcohol was seized from a number of youths, with eight taken home to their parents and a further 10 youth referrals made to the police.
Sgt. Dave Simpson said: “The operation was not about spoiling fun, it’s about making kids safer and educating them as to some of the dangers involved in underage drinking.”
