Police are targeting poachers who operate in the Ribble Valley as part of Operation Firecrest, a week-long crackdown on rural crime.
Since May, more than 12 poaching incidents have been reported with police seeing incidents relating to a large amount of wild deer, hares and rabbits recently. Around three weeks ago, the butchered carcass of a Sika Deer was found near to Bolton-by-Bowland.
Ribble Valley Wildlife Crime officer PC Carl Chew has sent out more than 20 anti-poaching letters to people suspected of poaching within the Ribble Valley.
