POLICE have launched an investigation into claims that thousands of pounds worth of goods and money have been stolen from a popular farm shop in the Ribble Valley.

Bosses at Huntley’s in Samlesbury fear the business may have been targeted two or three times a week.

Staff at the farm studied CCTV footage when they became suspicious after a number of items and cash went missing. Police confirmed that they had arrested a 27-year-old man from Walton-le-Dale on suspicion of burglary with intent to steal and possession of cannabis.

He has been released on bail until July 19th.

A spokesman for the Lancashire Constabulary said: “We have launched an investigation and we are looking at a number of different incidents at the site involving theft and we will be carrying out a number of inquiries. The man was arrested in relation to an alleged offence between May 12th and May 20th, but police said further inquiries are being made in connection with a number of other allegations.”
