A 40-year-old Langho man assaulted his wife during a Sunday afternoon drinking session.

Blackburn magistrates heard that Steven Dennis Hill was so angry he was red in the face and the veins in his neck were sticking out.

And his wife was so scared that at one stage she considered jumping out of the bathroom window to escape.

Hill, of Petre Wood Crescent, Langho, pleaded guilty to assaulting Michelle Hill. He was remanded on bail until April 29th for the preparation of a pre-sentence report.

Mrs Enza Geldard (prosecuting) said at some stage during the afternoon, Hill had locked himself in a bedroom.

He was angry when his wife demanded to know what was going on and came out and punched her twice.

Mr Richard Prew (defending) said there had been a convictions for assault against the same victim in the past 12 months and it was accepted the magistrates would need a pre-sentence report before sentencing.
