Former Clitheroe FC goalkeeper Carlo Nash, who has been linked to a coaching role with West Bromwich Albion recently, is to appear before a crown court judge on Thursday accused of stalking his ex-wife.
Nash (41), of Manchester, who has previously played for Middlesbrough, Norwich City and Everton, appeared at Chester Crown Court in September for a preliminary hearing and indicated he would be denying the charge against him.
He is accused of one count of stalking Jill Nash between February 2013 and August 2014, including accessing her email and social media accounts, trying to attach a tracking device to her car, and accessing her computer.
Born in Bolton, Nash started his goalkeeping career at non-League Rossendale United and Clitheroe before being signed by Crystal Palace. He has also played for Manchester City, Preston North End, Wigan Athletic and Stoke City.
In his final game for Clitheroe FC, Nash played in the final of the FA Vase at Wembley Stadium losing 3–0 to Brigg Town.
