A FORMER Clitheroe man has made a second appearance before Blackburn magistrates charged in connection with the death of a cyclist in September.

Brian Creasey (50), formerly of Riverside, Clitheroe, but now living in Fullwood, Preston, was committed on bail to Preston Crown Court on a charge of causing the death of Ian Hammel by driving without due care and attention on the A59 at the entrance to BAE.

Mr Hammel (53), of Penwortham, was hit as he turned right into the BAE site having travelled from the direction of Preston. Creasey is alleged to have driven through a red light before colliding with Mr Hammel, who died in hospital 10 days after the incident.

Creasey was remanded on bail pending his appearance at the Crown Court.
