Police are appealing for witnesses after a pedestrian was injured in a collision outside the Tesco store in Clitheroe on Christmas Eve.

A man in his 50s was hit by a car around 10-20am outside the entrance in Duck Street. The vehicle involved is described as a small red Suzuki and is thought to have been driven by an elderly woman.

PC Neil Goodison, of the East Road Policing Unit, said: “The man sustained injuries to his knee as a result of this collision and I would urge the driver of the vehicle to come forward and contact us.

“There were a number of people who stopped to help the injured man and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident to get in touch.”
