POLICE are today quizzing a 28-year-old woman from Whitefield, Greater Manchester, in connection with claims a new-born baby was left by the roadside in Edenfield on Tuesday night.
The woman was arrested last night on suspicion of concealment of birth and will be questioned by officers throughout the day.
Police have said their investigations are continuing and they have not recovered a baby or foetus.
Detectives launched and inquiry after receiving information a female had given birth and left the baby wrapped in a blanket in a bag by the side of Rochdale Road, Edenfield.
Police found a bag and blood-stained blanket which have been examined by forensic experts.
