Five-thousand litres of diesel fuel worth £6,500 was stolen from the Laundwood Pumping Station in Dunsop Road, Whitewell, sometime during the first week of May.

In other crime news, equipment worth £1,500 was stolen from the United Utilities water treatment works in Elker Lane, Billington, overnight between Monday and Tuesday. The items stolen included a Karcher pressure washer, two Honda-engine generators, two petrol pumps and a black Lenovo laptop computer.
