Officers discovered 89 plants in a garage and a large shed and a 65-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of producing cannabis.

Detective Inspector Mark Winstanley said: “We were acting on information from members of the public. We’d had a lot of reports from people who had noticed a strong smell of cannabis coming from the address.

“It was a very large for such a rural location and I hope it sends a message out to the public that the police will act on their concerns. We will continue to do everything we can to remove drugs from our streets and I urge anyone who is suspicious to contact us.”
