AN Information Evening for potential foster carers in the Ribble Valley and Hyndburn will be held in Clitheroe next week.

Everyone is welcome at the event next Thursday, August 18th, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Ribblesdale Children’s Centre, Queens Road, Clitheroe. It offers a chance to find out more about fostering and to have a cup of tea and an informal chat with experienced social workers.

Lancashire County Council acts as the “corporate” parent for upwards of 1,300 children and young people from birth to 18 who all need homes where they can feel wanted, safe, and secure.

A spokesman for the council said: “We have children who need to be placed coming to us through our social work teams every week, from newborn babies to teenagers. Because they and their needs are so varied, we need a large variety of foster carers we can place them with.”

Anyone unable to attend on the night can call the fostering recruitment team on 0800 195 1183 or visit: www.lancashire.gov.uk/fostering
