A stunning Winter Wonderland display was the winner of the 2015 Clitheroe best dressed shop window competition.

Winners Orchid Bridal Designs in King Street, which is owned and run by mother and daughter team Liz Metcalfe and Laura Napoli, claimed the trophy for the eye catching display which was designed by Amy Lund.

The annual competition is organised by the Clitheroe Chamber of Trade and town crier Roland Hailwood was charged with the task of judging the entries over the weekend of the Clitheroe Christmas Festival.

Dozens of shops around the town entered the keenly fought contest with a varied collection of Christmassy and eye-catching displays.

Genesis Hair and Beauty in Wellgate came second and third placed was Attire in Clitheroe Market Place.

The competition is held to help celebrate all the hard work that is put in by everyone involved in dressing their shop windows to give the town a truly festive feel.

Daniel Williams, who is president of the Chamber of Trade, said: “It is always a pleasure to see how imaginatively the different shops are dressed each year. I remember as a child the excitment of seeing the newly decorated shop windows at the start of December and I am always impressed by the creativity of all the shops every year.’’
