After 12 years on Clitheroe’s high street, one of the town’s most familiar and well respected estate agents, Anderton Bosonnet, has upped sticks and moved to a contemporary new retail space on historic York Street – just a few minutes stroll away.
The new office is located in one of the town’s most beautiful Grade II Listed buildings, number 8 York Street, close to The Grand and Clitheroe Royal Grammar School – a position at the heart of the town’s historic quarter.
The move has been driven by the company’s desire to create a more modern, customer-centric retail experience, one worthy of 21st Century buyers. Stretching over four floors, the new office provides a much larger retail area.
Following an extensive refit and refurbishment, customers can now browse sales or lettings on integrated iPads in stylish and modern surroundings, from the comfort of new seating areas with tea, coffee, and refreshments available. Anderton Bosonnet are thought to be the first estate agency in the North West to use iPads as part of their in-store experience.
Negotiators at the new office have also been trained to work across both departments, so customers receive a speedier and more cohesive experience.
Husband and wife team Gill and Russell Anderton, together with Russell’s son Sam, have run Anderton Bosonnet with a long-serving and dedicated team for 12 years. Between them they share 50 years’ experience in the business and are members of the Guild of Estate Agents, Association of Residential Lettings Agents and hold a Certificate of Practice in Estate Agency.
So well respected is the family-run business that a recent survey by the independent Property Ombudsman found 100% of customers would recommend Anderton Bosonnet to friends.
Managing Director Russell Anderton explained the reasons for the move: “Times have changed and we like to move with the times. Customers these days want to browse in a relaxed, informal manner, in nice surroundings, and spend quality time together discussing what is an enormous investment.
“They also want control over what they look at, which is why digital marketing now plays such an important role in the buying experience – the iPad lounges are an essential part of the new in-store experience.
“We are also a very customer focused business and want our staff to be able to help our customers with whatever they are looking for, whether sales or lettings, in an efficient manner. Cross-training our teams means we can be much more responsive to our customers’ needs and help them more quickly at peak times.
“We were very happy on King Street, but unfortunately we only rented the shop and it was too small for our ambitions; it just couldn’t accommodate a development of this nature.
“Owning our own premises has allowed us to make changes that will meet the expectations of a new breed of customer – people who are looking for quite a different home buying experience than years before.”
The family-run business launched in 2000. Its ambition was to be the Ribble Valley’s leading estate agency, serving clients across the region with a flawless, professional, and independent estate agency service. Some 12 years on, with a 100% customer satisfaction rating, a highly skilled and dedicated team, and now proud owners of a dedicated retail space on York Street, Anderton Bosonnet continues to go from strength to strength.
