Hollywood glitz and glamour will come to the Ribble Valley tomorrow (Saturday) as members of Clitheroe Chamber of Trade enjoy their annual ball.

On arrival at the Stirk House Hotel, Gisburn, everyone will receive a complimentary drink and a cupcake courtesy of the Cupcake Boutique. This will be followed by entertainment in the ballroom, which will start at 7 pm.

The black tie ball has always been a sell out, and this year is no exception with 200 tickets already sold for the Hollywood-themed event.

To get people in the swing of the night, members of Ribble Valley Dance will perform a dance routine, choreographed by principal Lindsay Pollard, before the meal in an effort to raise as much money as possible for the president’s two chosen charities – Salute and Pendle Dogs In Need.

Ball organisers Sam and Katie Winstanley, from Megabites, have managed to obtain some fantastic raffle prizes. These include: lunch for two at Northcote Manor; goods from Harry Garlick; a voucher for a weekend break from Avista Travel; marketing vouchers from Latitude; a free induction and 10 free sessions at Lee Carter; a vacuum cleaner from DJP; a designer handbag from Urban Sheep; designer sunglasses plus a goody bag from Spex; £50 voucher from Seasons; designer goody bag from Attire; luxurious hamper from Igloo; bespoke hand-crafted Belgium chocolate cake from Vanilla; free afternoon tea at Cupcake Boutique; free aerial hoop session at Dance Finesse; cut and blow dry at Style Lounge; and a beauty treatment courtesy of Bonita.

After the three course meal the evening’s entertainment continues with band Manhattan, providing live music until midnight.

As a well-established five-piece band, Manhattan have a wealth of experience and will be entertaining the guests throughout the evening with a mixture of music styles.

The charity fund-raising raffle will take place after the meal.

A spokesman for the chamber said: “In an effort to beat last year’s magnificent total of £500 donated to Derian House, this year the event is even bigger with over 250
tickets available priced at just £32 each with a Hollywood theme.”

The ticket price includes a complimentary arrival drink followed by a three-course meal and a disco until midnight. For more information, e-mail k_winstanley@
